Our Story

House for a Home was founded with a singular vision—to alleviate the devastating effects of homelessness, both here in the United States and abroad. Simply, the mission of House for a Home is to provide homes for the homeless.

House for a Home’s founder and President, Bryson Swiggart, is a well-travelled realtor and is acutely aware of global epidemic of homelessness. According to the United Nations, an estimated 100 million people are entirely homeless worldwide. Swiggart’s goal is to fully apply his real estate expertise and success, through House for a Home, in an effort to reduce global homelessness.

House for a Home will primarily focus on raising funds and then distributing those funds to other partner organizations with who will be responsible for the construction of homes for the homeless. Most funds will be raised through real estate transactions. A standard real estate transaction generally involves agents, buyers, sellers, and other real estate professionals. House for a Home will invite each participant in the transaction to make a donation, with the ultimate goal for each transaction to raise the funds needed to build a new home—one house for one home for the homeless.

From 2016

In the summer of 2016, House for a Home began their first partnership with another non-profit who was building homes for the homeless in western Kenya, Africa. Bryson Swiggart with a few others met with their leadership in the spring of 2016, then travelled to Kenya that summer in order to observe their work firsthand. That was a great connection and since that time, House for a Home has been building homes in western Kenya. This was the first of what is hoped to be several relationships with like-minded groups to address homelessness worldwide.

How Can You Help?

House for a Home’s immediate task is to network and to encourage other real estate professionals and their clients to consider donating and helping us combat global homelessness one home at a time.
